I just signed up with CAcert. It's a certificate authority based on real people and human networks, much like the GnuPG Web of Trust. People should use HTTPS for services more often. I know I should be serving my website over SSL, hopefully I'll get that set up some time soon with a CAcert certificate. I also found out that you can access all of Wikipedia securely, signed by a CAcert key.
