I really like Subversion. I've been using it at work a fair bit recently and having repository-wide revisions is really handy. Tonight I noticed Tor had an RC bug in the Debian bug tracker — a security bug. I thought I might see if it was reasonably possible to backport the patch to whatever version is in testing at the moment, then pass the patch (or package) on to the testing security team.

Well, Tor still uses CVS. I had a look to see what it'd take to find the affected files. I found one with a commit message and subsequent release tag, but finding the other files patched in that commit was prohibitively difficult, so I've given up and blogged about it instead. Pity.
