I want to go snowboarding. It's been over a year and a half since I last went, which is too long. Turns out imho (that's his name) from #php is considering a snowtrip mid year... hopefully I can tag along. I think dad might be organising one too because last time @ The Remarks we thought it would be a good idea to have a "father and son" trip. I think I'll shell out for some new snow gear this time because I'd certainly feel more confident in current stuff as opposed to the 70s fluro body suit i wore last time :| It was nice that no-one paid me out about it, though. Hopefully I'll be able to go to the snow with dad & with imho, although imho says he does the black runs .. and I've never really done anything other than green runs. I think I could easily go blue, but black :| I'm also increasingly interested in moving overseas to either NZ or Canada. I'm particularly interested in Canada because it has been longer since I was there... and I have family there. That'll be a couple of years in the making though — I have to finish this Diploma of Software Development before I get too excited. I need qualifications. I also need experience, and I doubt many places would really count the amount of time I've done coding of my own interest as experience. So, in preparation for getting more experience I'm planning on doing part or all of a new resumé. I have no idea where I'll take it, and if I'm chasing an entry-level programming job or another dodgy teen-job... but whatever it is, I think I'm pretty much ready to get out of Woolies. Mum says (and d33t has also said) it's a bad idea to quit one job before I get another both because of a gap in income and because if I'm employed at the time I'm applying, it's clear that I'm looking for a new job by choice as opposed to having been kicked out. I think I could get a few more programming jobs if I had that as my primary employment. I did the CS Aus job (which kind of failed because I was still tied up at Woolies), and now I've got a much smaller project with Zand3r which is also PHP-based. I'd like to move on from PHP, but I know I don't have enough experience and knowledge with C to be employable. Then of course I need money for things like petrol, toys, food, CDs and snowboarding trips. At least with Woolies I have a pretty constant stream of income, but if I left and just did occasional contracts, it would be very inconsistent. Oh... what to do?
